Designed by internationally renowned New York-based firm Kohn Pederson Fox, in association with Toronto’s highly regarded Page + Steele Architects, The Residences at The Ritz-
Carlton, Toronto has become one of the city’s signature buildings. At 53 storeys high, its elegant composition of glass and limestone has a distinctive shape unlike any other building in
the city — it gently widens as it reaches the sky, tilting toward Lake Ontario in a warm, friendly salute.
“The building layers itself toward the lake, creating an urban gesture of sorts.”
Joshua Chaiken, Lead Architect, Kohn Pederson Fox
In a style that is described as contemporary, abstract and international, it is obvious from first glance that exquisite craftsmanship has gone into its creation. The slender proportions give way to gradually increasing floor plates from the 25th floor to the penthouse levels, so, no matter the size or level of your suite, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Toronto’s skyline and the lake beyond. And just like all true architectural beauties, it starts with a spectacular foundation.
At the base of the building, four large cantilever columns prominently yet discreetly slope over the granite entrance onto Wellington Street. An exemplary case of “form meets function,” the columns bring the building outward as they simultaneously invite you toward the porte cochère to ultimately carry your eye upward to the five-storey glass podium that houses the hotel’s meeting rooms, two ballrooms, a state-of-the-art business centre, a fine-dining restaurant that overlooks the Hotel Lobby, and a full service-spa/salon complete with fitness centre. But it doesn’t stop there.
“The quality of materials used in this development is second to none,” says Mansoor Kazerouni, Executive Vice President of Page + Steele. From the installation of a high-quality, curtain wall cladding system to an innovative deep-water cooling system, as an owner you are sure to save costs and substantially reduce your carbon footprint.
As you may have already realized, at The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, the best of everything is not optional, it is de rigueur.
