As you drive up to the porte cochère, you hand your keys to the valet who gladly parks your car in the underground garage. Perhaps you’ve just arrived by foot after a long day of work or shopping, or by cab after a business trip or vacation abroad. Whichever your mode of transportation or activity, the doorman is always ready to greet you with a friendly ‘hello’ and help unload your shopping bags or luggage. Yes, the legendary Ritz-Carlton service has already begun — and will begin again each time you arrive home or set out for the day.
Blending contemporary design elements with classic sophistication, the Hotel Lobby has a streamlined yet relaxed ambiance which lends itself to its ultrachic luxurious surroundings. World-renowned design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates was commissioned to design the hotel’s interior public spaces and suites. For the Hotel Lobby, the design team chose a colour palette that was inspired by the warmth of the local fauna and flora, and with the installation of sculptural, cloud-like chandeliers, the designers have hit their mark with their subtle yet sleek representation of Canadiana.
No hotel lobby of this magnitude would be complete without a grand staircase. Exuding an air of classic glamour, it leads dramatically to the second floor restaurant and perfectly complements the Sky Walk, which is made of glass and wood and floats above the lobby to create a stunning design element.
